Longmire Visit

Our week with Bethany and Lily went by all too quickly. Seems like that's how life is- you spend all this time looking forward to something, and then bam! it's over so fast. We had such a wonderful visit and I am so thankful for friends being willing to make the trip.

We kept the week low key, but still managed to find things to keep us busy. The kiddos kept Beth and I on our toes as they fell back into sibling mode and telling each other what they could and could not do... gotta love 2-year-olds. Jancsi's little bossy side totally came out and I think Little Sister will be coming at just the right time. : )

One morning at breakfast we mentioned that we were going to go to a playground and both kids were elated! Jancsi was ready to pull on his boot over his pj's and go that second... Lily made the comment "Do hair get dressed!" I just had to laugh as I thought about the difference between boys and girls and how we were getting ready to enter this new domain in a few short weeks! 

The kids were my little chicken helpers for the week, and Lily enjoyed lending a helping hand with feeding and egg collecting. I think she broke at least one egg per day. : ) They would walk up the long hill with their bucket and chicken feed and they each got to carry an egg back down. 

I love our times together. Bethany is so genuine and our conversations are always so uplifting. We can talk about silly girl stuff, serious mom or wife stuff and it's always real. We can share whatever and there are never hurt feelings or a judgmental spirit. Our visit was much needed on my part.

The year we lived together built relationships that will last through the years. Of that I am certain. It was fun watching the kids just pick up where they left off as if nothing had changed. 

We missed Bob, who had to stay and work, but are so grateful he was willing to share his girls with us! I am so excited for their newest little Longmire coming in June!
